Frequently asked questions

How do you calculate engagement rate?

The most common formula is (likes + comments + shares + saves) divided by followers, multiplied by 100. If you know your reach you can also divide by reach for a per-impression view.

What is a good engagement rate?

A healthy rate is roughly 1-5%. Below 1% is considered low and above 5-6% is excellent. Smaller accounts typically see higher rates than very large ones.

Should I use followers or reach for engagement rate?

Engagement rate by followers shows audience loyalty; engagement rate by reach shows how compelling a post was to the people who actually saw it. This tool reports both when you supply a reach value.
